Library Partners with Master Gardeners for Program Series

The Anamosa Library & Learning is pleased to partner with the Jones County Master Gardeners to present Gardening 101, a 3-part program series on how to garden. All topics will address both container gardening and gardening plots. This program series will be held virtually using Zoom and in-person in the library’s meeting room.
 
Getting Your Garden Started: Tuesday, May 4th at 6 PM
In our first session, we will cover preparing soil, selecting seeds, and deciding when to plant.
 
Caring for Your Garden: Tuesday, June 1st at 6 PM
At our second session, we will cover weeding, watering, addressing plant and pest issues, and additional planting. Attendees are encouraged to bring any questions or issues with their own garden to get feedback from our Master Gardeners.
 
Harvesting Your Garden: Tuesday, August 3rd at 6 PM
Our final session will cover options for surplus produce, canning, freezing, dehydrating, and putting your garden to bed.
