1st Place - Nancy Lacey

1st Place - Nancy Lacey

Judges loved the story being told in this photo. The unsuspecting moth, enjoying lunch atop a flower head, seems unaware of an intruder coming up from the rear. The photo was well-exposed, sharp, and highly interesting, earning Nancy her first place ranking.

2nd Place - Dave Bunce

2nd Place - Dave Bunce

During a trip to Italy Dave snapped this great shot of one of the canals. The buildings follow the contour of the gently curving canal, leading the eye and creating interest and appeal.

3rd Place - Dave Bunce

3rd Place - Dave Bunce

Dave also claimed third place with this arresting shot of the Wapsipinicon foot bridge near the dam. A light fog hugs the river, and the sun is heavily filtered, but still prominent, in a darkend sky. A skillfully-composed image Dave!

Hon. Mention - Randy Day

Hon. Mention - Randy Day

During a trip to a coastal region Randy grabbed this gorgeous mixture of land, sea, and sky. Offsetting the land letting the cloud banks dominate gave the picture drama and enhanced its beauty.

Hon. Mention - Marisa Schilling

Hon. Mention - Marisa Schilling

What distinguishes this photo from other fall color images is the lighting. Marisa got this image when the tree was sunlit largely from underneath, enhancing the leaf color and adding a sunrise effect to the image. Well done Marisa!
